When should I invest in online ads?

Your clients will find your products and services with ads initially if your brand is new online. Even if your brand is not new but is not easy to find due to competition or minimal SEO work, ads are the way to go.

But this is something you don’t want to rush as you will pay for every click the site receives. You want to make sure everything is ready to generate leads before you pay for all those clicks to your website.

Definitely ads are costly, but the difference between online ads and traditional ads are tracking. In the traditional model, you could have probably paid a monthly budget to a radio station and the result would have been up for guessing. In the online ad model, you can track the journey of each click and measure the success of your campaign.

Setting up ads is not the whole story, the story only starts when you start paying for ads after you set them up.

Patience is key at this point when you are working with the right team. You might not see much of results for the first 3 months, as that is usually the time that was spent adjusting and finding out the right ad funnel that works for your business conversions. Trust your online team and meet with them regularly to understand the campaign status. Give ads time and wait for conversations, this period takes from 3 to 6 months, but once you have conversions, ramp up spending.

You should only spend money on online ads, when you have a at least 6 months of burn time on your monthly budget, read our ad spend article to figure out the burn rate, remember you have to add the company ad fee to your spend. For example if you are spending 1000$ a month on ads, the company managing your ads and tweaking them will have a fee, make sure they specify this fee and ad spend for you.
